Child Grooming: Keeping Your Little One Neat & Clean

 In General

Taking care of your child’s health matters just as much as taking care of their mental and emotional wellbeing. And health is a lot more than fruits, vegetables and exercise – it also includes staying clean.

That’s where child grooming comes into play. Although it’s easier to manage for a baby, it becomes a bit more work when your toddler becomes a lot more active and mobile. Instead of letting it become a burden for you, here are ways you can keep your child neat and clean:

Keep The Right Tools

Whether it’s for their hair or their body, always make sure you have the right tools with you. They should not be sharp, awkward or heavy, because you want to make sure the cleaning process is quick and comfortable.

For hair, using a wide-toothed hair brush with rounded edges is a safe option; any nail clippers you pick must have rounded, blunt edges so that nobody gets hurt. If they want to pick their own toothbrush, make sure the bristles are soft and short, so that they don’t hurt their gums while brushing. Let them pick their favorite colors so that the cleaning process becomes a bit more fun!

Make It Quick

One of the main reasons some toddlers avoid cleaning time is because they know it takes a lot of their time. If you keep the process quick, they will be more willing to participate. A maximum time of 15 minutes is more than enough for your toddler to get squeaky clean, otherwise you’ll be drying their delicate skin.

Add Some Fun!

Toddlers might run away from bath time, but they won’t stay away from some fun!

Make the entire ordeal fun-filled, so that your child is not bored at any point. Sing a song while cutting their nails, or have some fun role-playing as pirates while having a bath. And once you’re done, let your child pick their own clothes, or even their cute hair accessories! Giving them a degree of freedom will help make the job that much easier.

Let Them Take The Wheel

Every once in a while, give your child the chance to take control; let them brush their own teeth, or lather their own hair with shampoo. You could let them even brush their own hair! Such tactics help children learn the importance of staying clean, which they will surely take with them once they’re older.

Hygiene should be maintained both inside the house and outside. Fortunately, nurseries in Dubai Marina are great at promoting the importance of staying clean. In fact, Oakfield Early Learning Centre makes sure their practitioners always keep their students healthy, fresh and neat – even during messy activities, they make sure the children return home clean!

The parenting law is simple: a clean child is a happy child!
